Which version should I use?
UmiVPN offers both store and non-store builds on every platform—either is fine. Store builds update automatically and go through store review, which many people find more reassuring (non-store UmiVPN is still clean software you can trust). Non-store builds get updates sooner; store builds often lag by a few hours or days.
On Windows, the store has two listings—prefer the EXE version: TUN mode works right away. The other MSIX version needs a Windows service installed before TUN works.
On Android, store and non-store builds are essentially the same.
On iOS, if you do not have a US Apple ID, download the TestFlight build. If you do, the App Store build is better—TestFlight builds must be updated at least every three months or they stop working.
On Mac, prefer the Mac App Store build: it works out of the box with no Extension install. Use TestFlight if you do not have a US Apple ID; the DMG build needs a System Extension installed manually.
If opening an App Store / Mac App Store link lands you in the China App Store, that is Apple policy: Chinese users are redirected there. When that happens, open a non-China App Store and search for “UmiVPN” to find our app.
